Legacy & Vision

The Estate

Quinta do Casal Monteiro is a family-owned estate located in the heart of the Tejo region, one of Portugal’s most historic and expressive wine regions. Its origins date back to 1928, when Dom Luís Margaride founded the property. Today, the estate remains under family ownership, combining heritage with a clear focus on quality, innovation, and environmental sustainability.

The Terroir & Vineyards

With 60 hectares of vineyards, Quinta do Casal Monteiro cultivates a balanced selection of indigenous Portuguese and French grape varieties, with an average vine age of 30 years. This diversity, together with different stages of vine maturity, supports a consistent production of high-quality grapes.

The Wines

Influenced by the proximity to the Tagus River, which creates marked temperature variations during ripening, the vineyards produce wines with distinctive identity. They are characterised by expressive aromas, freshness, and balance, with versatility for a wide range of gastronomic experiences.
